KCR has become a big comedian of the season with his dieting activity. Many are calling it ‘dieting activity’ than ‘fasting unto death’. “At least he could stay a few days without alcohol. That’s dieting indeed. He needs it anyway”, said someone when KCR called off his hunger strike.
Now that has become a cue for everyone. Every politician believes that hunger strike has got more power than assumed. Hence many are coming on to roads and announcing hunger strikes. That is part of dieting activity, say many.
And every nonsensical act that was done before Dec 9th 11:30 PM when the pro-Telangana announcement has come out is carried by Seemandhra politicians and activists later. The same hunger strike announcements, the same destruction etc have started.
Lagadapati Rajagopal’s ‘fast unto death’ on Monday created a stir in media. TDP MLA Of Markapuram, Pyla Narasimhiah of PRP also joined the list of fast unto death activity. It is good that if bodies like Nagam Janardana Reddy undergo a ‘fasting’ as that means more for them.
And even 12 students of Andhra University started their fasting on Dec 11th and 6 others on 15th Dec. 3 Students announced fast unto death in Nagarjuna University. And SVU students are threatening to start hunger strike.
This hunger strike phenomenon got glorified with Potti Sriramulu who breathed his last after a vigorous 58 day hunger strike for separate Andhra state. ‘Hunger Strike’ is a Gandhian Style of protesting something in the interest society.
Now, the Center has raised curtain for a belief that a Hunger Strike can bring separate state.
