YSR Congress senior leaders and former ministers Kakani Govardhan Reddy and Poluboyina Anil Kumar Yadav have finally met, sparking talk that court cases have united the two leaders once considered bitter rivals in Nellore politics.
During the YSRCP regime, relations between Govardhan Reddy and Anil Kumar Yadav were extremely strained, with both trying to undercut each other politically.
Anil, who first became MLA from Nellore City, was initially inducted into Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cabinet. After two and a half years, Jagan dropped Anil and instead elevated Kakani into the cabinet, further widening their rift.
Even after the 2024 election defeat, tensions between the two persisted.
Matters worsened when Kakani Govardhan Reddy was arrested in multiple cases and spent nearly three months in Nellore jail. Recently, he was granted bail in all cases and walked free.
Against this backdrop, Anil Kumar Yadav paid a courtesy visit to Govardhan Reddy at the YSRCP district office on Podalakur Road.
Sources say the two leaders discussed the political scenario in Nellore district.
Party insiders describe this meeting as a positive development, crediting the court cases for bringing them together.
YSRCP cadres believe that both leaders have now signaled unity and will work collectively to strengthen the party in the coming days.
