Now, Private Bus Operators Under The Radar

There was a time when the private bus scam rattled United Andhra Pradesh. Though the officials turned a blind eye for a long time, they were finally forced to take action and disrupt their plying following a huge accident.

Not only did this lead to profits for RTC, it also brought out that thousands of buses were being operated illegally. But after some time, the issue died down.

Once again, the issue has come to the fore. This time it is no accident, but the Telangana government that is planning to crack its whip on the private operators.

The Telangana Transport Minister has recently announced that his government would be taking strict action against illegal operators.

Unlike in the past when a bus going to Shirdi met with an accident and a bus going to Bangalore caught fire resulting in the death of almost all travelers, the issue may not die down naturally after a while as the government is keen on stopping all such services.

Ironically, this move is a direct consequence of bifurcation. As almost all or rather all private bus operators are from Seemandhra. So, whenever the T government finds a small loophole, it will be end of show for the operators.
