With ex union minister Purandareswari joining the BJP, there are likely to be political realignments in the state.
The latest development has left many wondering if the Daggubati couple will strike a truce with Chandra Babu Naidu if TDP and BJP have a poll alliance. However, if there is no such alliance, then the question of them sharing the same dais does not arise. They can continue to hurl bards at each other like in the past.
On his part, Chandra Babu Naidu is playing safe by not making any adverse comments on BJP. In fact, he is indicating to his party cadre that in future they will have to be a part of NDA.
Given this background, TDP will have to support Daggubati Purandareswari when she contests as an MP. Even on the personal front, Daggubati couple and Chandra Babu Naidu do not share a cordial relationship.
During one occasion when Chandra Babu Naidu attended a family function, Purandareswari walked away from the dais. Her husband, Daggubati Venkateswara Rao even wrote a book in which he severely criticized Chandra Babu.
Chandra Babu too slammed the couple on various occasions. So if the poll alliance between the TDP and BJP comes through, it will raise many eyebrows as it will hint at a behind-the-door compromise between Chandra Babu and Daggubati couple.
Rumours about the Daggubati couple joining BJP have been doing rounds for quite some time. And they have come true. So, in future, it remains to be seen if they will work together with the TDP.
