Why is Naidu hesitating on Yadav as TTD chief?

Why is Naidu hesitating on Yadav as TTD chief?

It has been almost four days since there were reports that Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had finalised the name of senior TDP leader from Mydukuru Putta Sudhakar Yadav as the new chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board.

But so far, there has not been any announcement from the Naidu government so far, though Yadav even celebrated the news and thanked the boss before the media for the prestigious appointment. Apparently, the chief minister is now in second thoughts over Yadav’s appointment.

Sources said Naidu had received objections from some quarters that Sudhakar Yadav is not a chaste Hindu, but has Christian connections.

For example, Thallayapalem Siva peetam head Siva Swamy raised a strong objection saying Yadav was closely associated with Christian Associations and that he had attended many Christian meetings. The TTD Chairman post should be given to a person who is a Hindu 100% by faith, he said.

Though it is not exactly known whether Yadav was a really Christian-convert and there were no official reports about his Christian links, Naidu is said to be hesitating to appoint him as the TTD chief.

During the Y S Rajasekhar Reddy regime, it was Naidu who had raised objections over the appointment of Bhumana Karunakar Reddy as the TTD chief because of his Christian connections.

So, if he does the same mistake now, he would have to face the same criticism. Already, the chief minister had to face the attack for appointing IAS officer A K Singhal as the TTD executive officer in violation of the conventions, because Singhal is from North India.

Therefore, Naidu does not want to buy more troubles by appointing Yadav, say sources.
