'Special' News Before Pawan Meeting?

'Special' News Before Pawan Meeting?

If the reports coming from New Delhi are to be believed, the Centre might make an announcement on special category status or special financial package on September 7 or 8, much before the much-hyped meeting of power star and Jana Sena party president Pawan Kalyan at Kakinada, which is scheduled for September 9.

According to these reports, the Centre has finalised the deal and is giving it final touches. The announcement is planned in such a way that Pawan Kalyan’s meeting, aimed at demanding special status, would be converted into a thanks-giving meeting. That would be a huge political mileage for Telugu Desam Party president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

In fact, there is a talk that Pawan has taken up the issue of special category status at the behest of Naidu to deny political advantage to YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Pawan was apparently aware that the Centre was finalising the special deal and he has timed his Tirupati and Kakinada meetings in such a way that the advantage will not go to Jagan. If special status is given, it creates an impression that the decision was taken only after Pawan entered the scene. Since Pawan cannot take any political advantage of such an announcement, it would only help Naidu and the BJP!
