Reddy Becomes A Hurdle For AP Government

Former Justice Lakshmana Reddy is turning out to be the latest problem for the Andhra Pradesh government.

Reddy has been touring various villages in the capital zone and he has been sensitizing the farmers in the area.

He has been going around telling people that only farmers willing to give their farm lands must give them for land pooling and those who are not comfortable with the idea must refrain from doing so.

He has also been making the farmers aware of various provisions in law and is reiterating to them that they need not fear any repercussions as the law will protect them if they choose otherwise.

Most importantly, he has been telling them that if the government has to go about the process of land pooling through law, then it will have to show logical reasons as to why it has to take verdant, fertile lands to develop the new capital zone. And that’s the reason behind the government coming up with new schemes to procure land, he says.

In the past, Lakshmana Reddy had suggested that the new capital must be developed around Donakonda. But once the idea was pushed aside, Lakshmana Reddy took it upon himself to sensitize the farmers in the region and make them aware of their rights.

He has also been warning people that the pollution levels in Krishna river will shoot up once the new capital city comes up.
