No place for YSRC MLAs to stay!

No place for YSRC MLAs to stay!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has shifted his administration lock, stock and barrel to Amaravati.

And even the state assembly has also been shifted to Velagapudi, thereby deserting Hyderabad completely though it is supposed to be the joint capital for another seven years.

When the assembly is shifted to Amaravati, it is the responsibility of the Naidu administration to make arrangements for the MLAs to stay in Vijayawada or Guntur or even Amaravati during the assembly session.

While Naidu and ministers have their own houses in and around Amaravati, the TDP MLAs being from the ruling party could get the accommodation easily.

However, the Naidu government failed to provide accommodation to the YSRC MLAs. They are now forced to stay at a private apartment in Vijayawada, while their leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was provided accommodation in the R&B guest house.

The MLAs are forced to spend from their own pockets for the food and accommodation facilities in the private building.

It is unfortunate that the Naidu administration has failed to address the needs of at least women MLAs, who definitely feel uncomfortable in staying in the same apartment of the male MLAs.

A women MLA felt the government should have provided at least transport facility from their private guest house.
