Nandyal result: Beyond exit poll predictions!

Nandyal result: Beyond exit poll predictions!

The high-voltage by-elections to Nandyal assembly seat held on Wednesday generated so much interest among the people of the entire Andhra Pradesh state that the outcome has become highly unpredictable.

Going by the reports from the fields, it is going to be a nail-baiting finish on August 28, when the results are going to be declared.

Except Sakshi, which has obviously predicted massive victory for the YSR Congress party candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy, no other media house dared to come out with any exit polls since they realised that it is a close fight.

Even the ruling TDP and the YSR Congress party camps are not able to gauge the mood of the people, though superficially, both the sides are expressing confidence of a good victory.

According to reports, YSR Congress party’s political strategist Prashant Kishor and his team has predicted that Silpa might scrape through with a thin majority of around 2000 votes.

On the other hand, the TDP, in its internal survey, has got the feedback that its candidate Bhuma Brahmanand Reddy will register victory with just 5,000 votes.

Former Vijayawada MP Lagadapadi Rajagopal, who is known to conducting pre-poll and exit poll surveys, predicted that the TDP will win the Nandyal seat, though he did not predict the majority.

He said his prediction was based on a survey conducted by his team members. However, he said the TDP might get 10 per cent votes more than the YSRC.

Let us wait and see, who is correct and who is wrong!
