Naidu 'Vyragyam' On Politics!

Union Minister for Urban Development, Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu seems to have developed some sort of Vyragyam (aversion) towards politics; may be because of the brickbats he has been receiving on the special category status issue.

On Tuesday, Venkaiah made it clear that this would be the last tenure for him as the Rajya Sabha member and he would not contest the elections again next time.

He also declared that he would not aspire for any posts in the government after his term is over.

He is peeved at the way certain leaders are trying to malign his reputation despite the fact that he was doing his best for the development of Andhra Pradesh.

Well, relinquishing politics is no sacrifice for the nation. Venkaiah will continue to be an MP for another six years, by which time he would be 76 years old.

He cannot anyway win the direct elections; and who knows what would be his fate after six years for the re-nomination to Rajya Sabha.

Apparently, there is a talk that he would be fielded for the Vice-President post in 2017 itself and that would mean, he has to be away from active politics. In the meantime, he can bring either his son or daughter into politics!
