The YSR Congress Party which has been on the rise from the last year or two has also been seeing some exits.
The exit factor has become an interesting point of discussion for many.
The latest in that aspect is the quitting of industrialists Raghurama Raju, PVP Prasad and former minister Mareppa.
An allegation began to make rounds that YSRCP is entertaining only wealthy people for the parliamentary seats.
However, here is the inside truth. PVP Prasad withdrew from the nomination even before he joined the party. The reason for that is, Jagan preferring Jogi Ramesh over Prasad.
Apparently, Prasad wanted a candidate of his choice instead of Jogi Ramesh to contest from Mylavaram. But Jagan stood firm and made it clear that he would give chance to those who stood by him.
In the case of Raghurama Raju, he joined the party and initiated the Samaikyandhra movement to a large extent. However, he reportedly demanded that Narsapuram candidate Prasad Raju must be replaced at any cost.
Here again, Jagan didn’t give in and stuck to Prasad Raju. He reportedly mentioned on how such a thing would set negative precedence on the party. Prasad Raju is one man who showed his loyalty to Jagan at a crucial time.
Similarly for Vinukonda seat, TDP leader Nannapaneni Rajakumari’s daughter Sudha was nominated but the likes of Ayodhya Ramireddy (Narsaraopet MP candidate) and senior leader like Brahmanaidu had opposed that decision. Still, Jagan made no compromise and wanted Sudha only so the two leaders had to adhere to it.
In the case of Mareppa, the talk is that during YSR’s time he did not get the ticket and this time there was no proper constituency from where he could have been fielded. So, he is unhappy and that’s why the eventual criticism from him. Another comment is that YSRCP failed in convincing him.
Well, all this is part of politics but one thing is looking clear. Jagan has made up his mind that going forward, his priority will be only those who are loyal to him than money.
