Akhila Image Goes Up In Kurnool!

The victory of Telugu Desam Party candidate Bhuma Brahmanand Reddy in Nandyal by-elections with a huge majority of over 27,000 votes seems to have enhanced the image of Bhuma Akhila Priya, daughter of late Bhuma Nagi Reddy, whose death necessitated the by-elections.

Till the announcement of results, Bhuma was treated a political novice and with her immature attitude, she distanced several senior leaders of the party.

She was held responsible for the defection of Silpa brothers –Mohan Reddy and Chakrapani Reddy into the YSR Congress party.

Seniors like SPY Reddy and A V Subba Reddy were also upset with the way Akhila Priya did not take them into confidence. But due to timely interference of party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, crisis was nipped in the bud.

But things have changed after the election results. Everybody is now praising Akhila Priya for steering the party to victory with her dedication and commitment.

While media has declared as “Jejemma” (ala Anushka in the film Arundhati) for taking on mighty Silpa brothers, the local TDP leaders was all praise for the way she led the campaign in the by-polls.

Suddenly, she has become the most sought-after leader not only in Nandyal but also in the entire Kurnool. And she is emerging as the true heir of Bhuma Nagi Reddy.

On Wednesday, Akhila, along with Brahmananda Reddy visited Amaravati to meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu following the victory of bypolls.

While she thanked Naidu for all the support he had given, the chief minister complimented her for her daring campaign.
