At a time when almost everyone forgot about him, Uday Kiran has returned and this time he became a tough cop. It clearly reveals that Uday Kiran is doing this kind of films just for maintenance but not to rebuild his career. Let us get into the details.

Story
Sriram (Uday Kiran) is a young man who keeps getting calls from someone and he goes about on a killing spree which includes the police commissioner (Chalapathi Rao), politician Chintamani (Gowtham Raju) and others. Chasing Sriram is one Adi Narayana (Aditya Menon) who aspires to become a CM. On his way to Goa, Sriram chances upon Reshma (Reshma) a bubbly girl who escapes from home to marry her lover (Harish Kalyan). Who is Sriram? Why is he killing everyone? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Uday Kiran attempted a different role by taking the tough cop role but he could not tone his body or show that ferocity in him. The good side is, he managed to give good base to his voice.

Reshma looks sexy and fresh. Though her role was hardly anything, she tried to score with her cuteness and sex appeal. There are many angles in her which remind us of Trisha.

Gowtham Raju was a revelation. For the first few minutes none would be able to recognize him for the way he has been shaped. This is perhaps the first time he got a very significant role and he made good use of it.

Harish Kalyan was stiff, he needs to improve. Aditya Menon was good, Tagubothu Ramesh was wasted, Banerjee was brief, Chalapathi Rao was usual, Sana was standard, others didn’t have any scope.

Drawbacks

  • Everything

Analysis
There are two types of films - good and bad. This is the general category but there is also another category and that is films that cause pain and torture. This is one film which belongs to that special category. Pain we say because one really cannot understand what made Uday Kiran accept this role and what confidence he had on the director.

Given his experience in film industry, he must have realized during shooting that the film was a confirmed dud. Anyways, this comeback is depressing. Torture we say because of the way the director tests the patience of the viewer with his antics. Time and again it has been repeated and educated that more than one’s conviction, the director must follow certain fundamentals of filmmaking. The director perceived something, wrote something and canned something else. Here are few highlights which go to show the peaks of torture.

  • Item song happens during heroine’s engagement ceremony
  • In climax fight, one bad guy that Uday kicks goes all the way up the sky and returns. No action hero in the history of Tollywood might have sent a goon to such heights with his blow.
  • Uday uses a tongue cleaner to dig a hole on the wall of villain’s prison and becomes successful by accomplishing that and escaping out

After watching the above episodes, it is very hard to stop anyone from fainting but luckily there was interval to give some breathing space. Overall, this is a film which scores very badly in all departments.

Generally one eats ugadi pachchadi during Ugadi. But to experience becoming a pachchadi one has to watch this.

Bottomline: Don’t ruin your Ugadi
