Top 5: Premam Retains Top Spot

1) Premam: Dussera winner Premam had a decent second weekend at the box office. Although there was a dip in the business after Dussera vacation, Premam retained its top spot as none of the new releases posed a challenge to it.

Premam business remained strong in A centers, but it couldn’t strike a chord with the B and C centers audience.

2) Nagabharanam: Kodi Ramakishna is back after a hiatus with Nagabharanam, which is yet another VFX loaded fantasy film from the veteran who cherishes making such films.

The graphics and the promotions have drawn the attention of the masses and Nagabharanam opened to packed houses on its first day. But the film is so terrible that it received disastrous talk from everywhere.

3) Abhinetri: The classy horror drama picked up a bit over the weekend and did okay at the plexes. However it needs a lot more to get anywhere close to the safe zone. That looks unlikely considering its poor show at the single screens.

4) Eedu Gold Ehe: The makers expected the film to pick up after a very poor start, but that didn’t happen and EGE business continued to be on the lower side.

Trade is surprised with the below par show of Eedu Gold Ehe as Sunil in the past has pulled off few mediocre films to safety. Somehow Eedu Gold Ehe has been rejected by the masses that usually are loyal to Sunil’s films.

5) Hyper: Hyper is a failure at the box office considering the costs involved. Disastrous performance in A centers is the main reason for its failure, says the trade.

It has done fairly well in B and C centers, but it was not enough to make it a safe venture for its buyers.
