Top 5: Ninnu Kori Retains Top Spot

1) Ninnu Kori: Nani's emotional romance drama turned out to be a smash hit at the box office as the film continued to rake in moolah in its second weekend.

The film remained crowd’s first choice both at multiplexes and single screens despite two new releases. It is all set to become second ‘solo’ film for Nani in the Rs. 30 crore (share) club.

2) Shamantakamani: Thanks to its star cast and interesting promos, Shamantakamani took a bright start at the box office.

The film did decent business mainly in cities across Telugu states in its first weekend. It is sold for fairly decent prices everywhere and could become a profitable film if it can hold during weekdays.

3) Patel SIR: Jagapathi Babu is back in the lead role as Patel Sir. It seemed an interesting idea on paper and in promos, but the debut director messed it up with shabby screenplay.

Patel Sir was off to a decent start but quickly dropped as the word of mouth is pretty discouraging.

4) Jagga Jasoos: Ranbir Kapoor’s disastrous stint continues with Jagga Jasoos. Even the Barfi director couldn’t weave any magic.

The long delayed film couldn’t get the desired start and is looking at heavy losses. Full marks for the effort but the execution is a letdown.

5) War For the Planet of Apes: Third installment of the planet of apes trilogy has been receiving the thumbs up from critics, but its dark setting and emotional treatment may not appeal to the entertainment seekers.

The title is a misleading one too as people comes to theaters expecting an action spectacle, but what they get in return is an emotionally charged drama.
