RGV Gets Much-Needed Publicity!

It is a known fact that maverick film director Ram Gopal Varma seeks to garner publicity for his films through controversy rather than quality elements in the film. And that is what he is getting from his latest film Vangaveeti.

Though the film does not have much quality in it, the story itself has abundant controversial elements and RGV knows they are enough to fetch it the much-required publicity.

As expected, Vangaveeti which was released on Friday, triggered protests across Vijayawada, the political nerve centre and the epicentre of the film.

The followers of Vangaveeti Ranga, the protagonist of the film, staged demonstrations and raised slogans at Y Screens multiplex located in Pundit Nehru Bus Station against Varma, demanding the withdrawal of the title of the movie and alleging that it does not reflect facts.

They also protested similarly at Santosh theatre in Ajith Singh Nagar. The police, however, quickly brought the situation under control without violence.

Vangaveeti Radha Krishna, son of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, met the Director General of Police N Sambasivarao and made his objections with the movie.

The film has been facing controversy from the date of its announcement. The Radha Ranga Mitra Mandali, followers of Vangaveeti Radha Krishna, had also warned of consequences if the film goes against their sentiments.
