Nag Finds Difference Between Class And Mass!

It is not a great film, but just a mass entertainer. Its standard is a little better than low-class reality show Jabardast being aired by ETV.

Yet, “Soggade Chinni Nayana” starring Nagarjuna has broken all the records in terms of collections and created a virtual tsunami at the box office. And it has turned out to be the biggest gross earner of all movies in the career of Nagarjuna.

But when such a mass film which has earned millions of rupees and broken all the records, Nagarjuna’s latest movie Oopiri which has got rave reviews from film critics and co-stars, is struggling to achieve even the break-even, according to trade pundits.

It’s not that Oopiri is just an art film with no commercial values. In fact, it was made with a huge investment and is definitely a commercial film. But going by the collections in Telugu and Tamil industry, it is said the film is facing difficulties even to recover the investment. At the most, it might end up as a no-profit-no-loss flick.

So, where is the difference? By watching a routine mass entertainer like Soggade Chinni Nayana minting millions with record collections and a powerful and touching film like Oopiri struggling to make a break-even, Nagarjuna might have realised by now the difference between a class movie and mass entertainer, say analysts.
