Court Takes Up Srimanthudu Story Case

A city civil court in Hyderabad today took up the case of writer Sharat Chandra who says the story of "Srimanthudu" was copied from his novel.

He has been making these allegations for some time and he has now moved to court and City Civil Court accepted case and sent notices to director Koratala Siva and producers of the movie. The notice was also sent to Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.

Sharat Chandra alleged that the movie was based on his novel "Chachentha Prema" that was published in Swathi magazine as series.

"I came to know that Srimanthudu is now being planned to be remade in Hindi with Hrithik Roshan. I am requesting court to give a stay on the remake efforts till the case is resolved," Sharat Chandra asked the court through his lawyers. And the court sent notices to the makers and Hrithik. The next hearing will come on March 4th.

Koratala Siva earlier denied the charges of copying or stealing the story from this novel.
