Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Goshamahal constituency, T Raja Singh, on Thursday refuted allegations that he was planning to shift to other political parties if expelled from the BJP.
Speaking to the media, Raja Singh recalled that he was once suspended from the BJP and stayed away from the party for 14 months. Even during that period, he said, he neither joined nor started any other political party.
“I will not leave the BJP to join any other party. Some people are playing political games with me, knowing very well that I won’t defect. That’s why they are trying to interfere in my constituency,” he said.
Raja Singh credited his continued loyalty to the inspiration he draws from leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Yogi Adityanath. He declared that if not for them, he would have left politics altogether.
He explained that he first entered politics through the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) before joining the BJP. “TDP was my first party; BJP is my last. If I ever leave the BJP, it would mean I am quitting politics entirely, not switching sides.”
He also warned that he would not spare those within the party who were harassing him.
On Telangana’s development funds, he criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, saying that making appeals to the Chief Minister was like “blowing a conch in front of a deaf man.”
He added, “You need to ask those who can hear. If the CM wants results, he must meet the Prime Minister.”
Raja Singh questioned why Revanth Reddy, who was recently seen with Union Minister Kishan Reddy, didn’t raise his concerns at that time but later criticized the Centre while in Delhi.
He urged Revanth to meet the Prime Minister directly and present a full account of the funds allocated to Telangana by the Centre since 2014.
