Why Is TRS Using Ex-Congress PM's Picture?

The Telangana Congress party on Saturday raised strong exception to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi using the picture of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, who was an out and out Congressman till his last breath.

On Saturday morning, the TRS issued an advertisement in all the newspapers appealing to the voters to vote for party candidate Surabhi Vani Devi in the MLC elections.

However, the advertisement also has a big picture of late P V Narasimha Rao, apparently aimed at exploiting the sentiment of the Telangana people towards him.

“We have strongly objected to this, since Narasimha Rao was a Congress leader,” PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said, after lodging a complaint with chief electoral officer Shashank Goel.

Uttam said the TRS leaders were spending money lavishly in the MLC elections to buy votes of poor graduates.

He said the Congress leaders had also complained to the CEO about blatant violation of model code of conduct by the KCR government by giving leaks about payment of 29% fitment to employees.

The Congress leaders also complained to EC that TRS leaders were threatening private school and college managements if  they did not to give their buses for transportation of TRS voters on polling day.

“The EC should refer the crores of ruppees being spent on advertising to IT for investigation. It should also stop voting by fake voters,” the PCC chief said.
