Where is Thota, when BRS is facing tough time?

It has been a considerable amount of time since there was any news about Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Andhra unit president Thota Chandrasekhar.

At a crucial juncture when the party is engaged in a challenging electoral battle in Telangana, he seems to be absent from the action.

According to party sources, Chandrasekhar was expected to play a significant role in mobilizing support from Andhra settlers in Telangana for the BRS during the ongoing elections.

"Whether directly or indirectly, the Andhra BRS chief should have participated in the campaign, at least in parts of Hyderabad and border areas of Khammam, Nalgonda, and Mahabubnagar, to assist the party," said a party source.

Chandrasekhar has previously asserted that he holds considerable influence among the Munnuru Kapu community, as well as the Kapus of Andhra settled in Telangana.

"If Pawan Kalyan can field candidates and campaign among the Kapus, why can't Chandrasekhar do the same, especially when every vote is crucial in the present elections?" they questioned.

Interestingly, it was only last Sunday that Chandrasekhar was seen at a Karthika Vana Samaardhana program in Qutbullapur alongside his community members. There, he praised KCR for extending all facilities to the Kapu community for its development.

He emphasized the need to unite and make progress in their respective fields, highlighting that the BRS had allocated 10 seats to the Munnuru Kapu community this time, compared to the four seats given previously.

Praising the Chief Minister, he mentioned that KCR had demonstrated his commitment to uplifting the Kapu community.

Chandrasekhar noted that KCR had allotted land for the Kapu community building by issuing a special GO with the approval of the Council of Ministers to avoid legal problems in the future.

Chandrasekhar also stated that the BRS government had contributed 10 crore rupees to the Kapu Bhavan, which was under construction on Lower Tank Bund road.

He added, "Another two thousand yards of land were allocated for Kapu Welfare Bhavan near BHEL, emphasizing the need for a visionary leader like KCR in the country."
