The name of the new regional party being floated by Y S Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, is going to be YSR Telangana Party, if the reports doing rounds in the social media are to be believed.
According to these reports, an application to this effect was filed with the Election Commission of India in the month of March itself and the commission issued a newspaper notification on March 23.
Interestingly, the application was filed not by Sharmila, but by one person Vaduka Rajagopal, who named himself as president/chairman of the party and showed his address as at Yousufguda in Hyderabad.
The notification issued also mentioned Ch Sudheer Kumar as general secretary and Nukala Suresh as treasurer. The ECI has called for objections, if any, from any person or organisation, before June 16.
One wonders why Sharmila herself has not filed the application before the ECI. There is also a talk that Rajagopal himself has filed the application well in advance to do some bargaining with Sharmila.
The pictures of Rajagopal and others with Sharmila are also doing rounds in the social media.
It is not clear whether the pictures are the recent ones or the old ones and there is no clarity whether Rajagopal and others are already associated with the party.
