Seniors Warn Of Revolt If Revanth Made PCC Chief

A revolt of sorts is brewing in the Telangana Congress party, following the reports that the Congress high command considering the name of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy for the post of PCC chief.

Even as Revanth rushed to New Delhi to have a meeting with All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi, some senior Congress leaders wrote a letter to the party high command targeting him personally.

These Congress leaders warned the high command that if Revanth Reddy was made the PCC chief, many leaders would resign from the party.

They alleged that Revanth had come from the background of Rasthriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and is a covert of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Congress.

“How can he be made the PCC chief? How can we take on the BJP with such a leader in the top position? Moreover, Revanth is also likely to face a CBI probe into his financial irregularities,” the seniors told Sonia in that letter.

Though the letter does not have any names of the signatories, it is evident that some senior Backward Class leaders like V Hanumanth Rao are behind the letter.

Stating that all parties in Telangana are giving a lot of importance to the BCs, the seniors said it would be better if one of the senior BC leader is made the PCC chief.
