Revanth shunts several pro-BRS top cops

As expected, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday effected a massive reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS officers) and shunted several top cops who danced to the tune of the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government.

For example, Director General of Police Anjani Kumar, considered to be the most loyal to former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has been shunted to a loopline post of chairman, road safety authority. Present DGP Ravi Gupta continues to remain in the post for the time being.

Similarly, former Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat was posted as Addl DGP, Railways & Road Safety and another hardcore loyalist of KCR M Stephen Raveendra, who was the Cyberabad police commissioner till recently was shifted as chief of Home Guards.

While Rajiv Ratan was transferred as Director General of Vigilance & Enforcement, former Hyderabad police commissioner C V Anand was posted as Director General, Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Abhilash Bisht was posted as Director of Telangana State Police Academy and Soumya Mishra was shifted as Director General, Prisons. Shikha Goel was posted as Addl. DGP, CID, and Anil Kumar was posted as Director General, Telangana Special Protection Force.

The chief minister already removed several IAS officers, who were loyal to the BRS government, from key posts and posted them in loopline positition.
