Revanth Reddy's 'Amaravathi Formula' In Hyderabad

Revanth Reddy, a Congress leader striving to become the Chief Minister of Telangana, has unveiled his plans.

During an event hosted by India Today, he responded to a query about the feasibility of balancing development and welfare with limited funds.

The query pertains to how development can occur when funds are directed towards welfare.

Development, in this context, encompasses not only the construction of new roads, bridges, and buildings but also the maintenance of existing infrastructure, a point that Revanth Reddy did not address.

He shared that a new city is slated for construction by pooling land in the Rachakonda Guttala area, following the Amaravati scheme. It seems corporate companies will be invited, allotted land, and facilitated to contribute to the development of the area.

He stated that the aim is to alleviate the strain on the current urban centers, which are grappling with overcrowding. Businesses will be allocated designated spaces in clusters, he said.

Revanth Reddy should recognize that the creation of a new city will not automatically alleviate the pressures faced by Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad.

The existing inhabitants are unlikely to relocate, and migration within the region continues without a significant shift in settlement patterns.

While the concept of establishing a new city to ease pressure on the existing ones seems plausible, it's important to acknowledge that development requires financial resources.

While a new city might not immediately necessitate these resources, the ongoing development and maintenance of existing infrastructure cannot be overlooked.

The continuous construction of flyovers, roads, and underpasses has been essential, and these projects were materialized in the last decade.

It appears that many of those criticizing Jagan are following a similar path. Whether it's Chandrababu or the Congress, both claim to provide overwhelming welfare schemes to the people. However, they fear rejection and thus assert their commitment to development, which often fails to materialize.
