Revanth Backs Eatala In Temple Lands Case

Even as a four-member committee of IAS officers of the Telangana government stepped up investigation into the alleged encroachment of temple lands at Devara Yamzal village of Shamirpet block in Medchal Malkajgiri district to corner former minister Eatala Rajender, the Congress party quickly came to his defence.

Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Malkajgiri MP Anumula Revanth Reddy led a delegation of party leaders to inspect the lands in various survey numbers at Devara Yamzal village to get the first-hand information about the actual encroachments of endowments lands.

He pointed out that big leaders of the TRS had encroached upon hundreds of acres of lands in the prohibited areas of Devara Yamzal. He pointed out that a TRS leader had made a venture in 84 acres of land in the village.

He alleged the IAS officers’ committee had not inspected the illegal construction of the printing press belonging to Namaste Telangana and Telangana Today in the same area, while focussing only on Eatala’s godowns.

“The head of the committee Raghunandan Rao is a relative of KCR. So, it is obvious that the committee has been appointed to target select individuals. The chief minister has no sincerity in protecting the temple lands,” Revanth said.

He threatened to move the court, if the government did not take action against all the encroachments of the temple lands in the village.
