Bharatiya Janta Party, which has entered into an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena Party in Andhra Pradesh, is not interested in making a similar experiment in Telangana in the coming days.
This was clarified by BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao to reporters on Monday. He said that the NDA coalition model used in Andhra Pradesh will not be replicated in Telangana.
Although TDP and Jana Sena joined NDA before the 2024 elections and are part of the ruling coalition in Andhra Pradesh and at the Centre, BJP chief has ruled out similar alliances in Telangana.
There had been discussions about a possible NDA expansion in Telangana, particularly in the context of upcoming GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) elections.
Proposals were floated about contesting the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypolls together and coordinating strategies at the local level.
However, the BJP chief dismissed such ideas. He stated that while BJP respects its NDA partners like TDP and Jana Sena in Andhra Pradesh, there would be no alliances in Telangana.
He emphasized that BJP would contest alone and asserted that the political environment in Telangana is different from that of Andhra Pradesh.
He also recalled past instances where TDP and Congress were supported and insisted that BJP had grown in Telangana due to its own cadre's hard work, and it would not rely on other parties to move forward.
