Modi to address big rally in Hyderabad on Feb 13

Even as the Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders are on cloud nine over the success of the huge public meeting of party president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are bringing pressure on the party bosses in Delhi to hold a similar meeting in Telangana at the earliest.

Initially, the BJP leaders in Telangana have arranged a meeting of top party leader and Union home minister Amit Shah in Hyderabad on January 28 as part of Lok Sabha Pravas campaign.

Shah was expected to have a meeting with party leaders to discuss on how to improve the party's performance in weak constituencies for the upcoming general elections 2024.

He was supposed to meet the party leaders and give guidelines to the party regarding the preparations for the elections.

However, Amit Shah cancelled his programme at the last minute due to the commencement of Parliament session. This has come as a dampener for the BJP in Telangana.

But on Saturday, the BJP leaders received the intimation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Hyderabad on February 13.

He will launch the modernisation works in Secunderabad railway station, besides laying foundation stone for a few projects and inaugurate others.

Later, Modi will address a huge public meeting at Secunderabad parade grounds from where he will virtually launch the party campaign there. Last time, too, Modi addressed a big rally at Begumpet after Munugode by-election results.

In fact, the Prime Minister should have come to Hyderabad on January 19 to launch various development works worth Rs 2,400 crore related to South Central Railways, besides flagging off the Vande Bharat Express train between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam.

The visit, however, got cancelled due to other engagements of Modi. Now, he has given the consent to come to Telangana, as promised, sources added.
