KTR Should Lead By Example

Politicians across the country were quick to condemn the attempted attack on the Chief Justice of India B R Gavai and KTR was no exception.

“The intolerance in our country has reached its highest levels; an outrageous sign of which was witnessed when the CJI was attacked. Strongly and unequivocally condemn the attempted attack,” said KTR on Twitter.

He further added, “This shameful assault on judicial dignity is not just an attack on one individual but on the institution itself. No disagreement even on sensitive issues like faith, justifies violence. Such behavior threatens the foundation of democracy itself.”

It is indeed amusing to see KTR speak about intolerance, democracy and sanctity of institutions.

Recently, BRS activists attacked the office of the MAHAA TV news channel in Hyderabad, destroyed furniture and equipment and injured the staff there. Why? Because the news channel was carrying defamatory stories on KTR.

Instead of condemning this assault, Jagadish Reddy of the BRS threatened that such attacks would keep continuing if the stories on KTR were not stopped.

Giving a regional spin to the event, he further thundered, “Andhra people have come to Telangana for livelihood and they should stay in their limits.”

Now everyone knows that MAHAA TV is just a stooge of the TDP, nevertheless, does it merit a violent response for carrying out anti-BRS news? Did KTR follow a single aspect that he mentioned in his tweet regarding values, etc.?

Isn’t it about time that this politician starts walking the talk and show that he is capable of leading by example rather than just making woke statements for scoring a few brownie points?
