Komatireddy, Revanth In Final Race For PCC Chief!

After hectic deliberations held by All India Congress Committee in-charge of Telangana affairs Manickam Tagore with nearly 200 Congress functionaries in the state, it appears there are only two main contenders for the Pradesh Congress Committee president post.

According to party sources, PCC working president, Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy and former minister, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy remained in the race for the PCC chief post.

The names of Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and former minister D Sridhar Babu also reportedly came up for discussion, the contest is only between Revanth and Komatireddy, as majority of the party leaders suggested only these two names.

On Wednesday, both Revanth and Komatireddy went to New Delhi following a call from the high command to present their credentials. Komatireddy was the first to meet AICC president Sonia Gandhi at her residence and pitched for his candidature for the PCC chief post.

Revanth, who had gone to Delhi to attend the meeting of parliamentary standing committee on defence affairs, is also expected to meet Sonia Gandhi later in the day and lobby for the post.

No other leader from the state Congress got a call from the high command, indicating that only one of the two would be chosen for the PCC chief post. It is not exactly known whose name Manickam Tagore had recommended to Sonia.
