KCR unfit for national politics, says Kodanda!

The report carried by Telugu daily stating that TRS president KCR is contemplating floating a national party has evoked sharp reactions from the opposition parties.

Telangana Jana Samithi president M Kodandaram said there was definitely a need and scope for a third alternative to the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party at the national level, but KCR was unfit to form the same.

“KCR is not suitable for national politics because of his attitude. He does not fit into the role of a national leader, though there is a scope for a third political alternative in the country,” Kodandaram said.

In fact, he said, KCR’s bosom friend Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, himself would not entertain this idea of a national party.

“Jagan won’t accept KCR as a national leader mainly because of the latter’s attitude,” the TJS president said.

He opined that the Presidential form of democracy was not suitable for India and there was no possibility of holding elections in the country on the lines of the US.

Meanwhile, the Congress party also brushed aside the Andhra Jyothy theory.

“If KCR really has any such intention, he will be a butt of ridicule. It is not so easy to run a national party like he is doing as the TRS president. A national party cannot be run by not coming out of the four walls of Pragati Bhavan,” Congress legislator T Jayaprakash Reddy said.

He reminded that leaders like Sharad Pawar and Mayawati, who had more public image than KCR, themselves could not grow up to the national party level.

While Mayawati will not support an anti-Dalit leader like KCR, no other regional party will be willing to join hands with him, Jagga Reddy said.
