KCR skipping assembly embarrasses BRS!

KCR skipping assembly embarrasses BRS!

It has been four days since the budget session of the Telangana Assembly began, and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders are facing an embarrassing situation due to the absence of their leader – former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

During the very first session of the assembly soon after the elections, KCR could not attend due to a hip fracture and was advised six weeks of rest. However, he recovered quickly and started attending party meetings, including the legislature party and parliamentary meetings.

Before the commencement of the budget session, KCR's son and BRS working president, K.T. Rama Rao, declared that KCR would soon enter the assembly, posing a tough challenge for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his team to face the "tiger."

"In the last session, Harish Rao and I made the Congress leaders sweat. Just imagine the situation if KCR himself enters the House. He will make the ruling party tremble with fear," he said.

A day before the budget session began, KCR came to the assembly, took the oath as MLA, and assumed the role of leader of the opposition. However, when the session commenced on February 8, he was nowhere to be seen.

BRS leaders stated that although KCR was absent during the governor’s address, he would definitely attend the House on the day of the budget presentation. However, this has not happened, and he has been absent from the House altogether.

On Monday, Revanth Reddy and his cabinet colleagues questioned the continued absence of the Leader of the Opposition, especially during discussions on crucial issues such as Krishna water.

Revanth Reddy remarked, "KCR is hiding in his farmhouse when an issue pertaining to the State’s interests is being discussed in the Assembly. By keeping himself absent from the House, he is insulting the people of Telangana."

He added that KCR should have come out to support the resolution and criticized every move of the previous government regarding Krishna waters.

He stated that the "Mahanubhavudu" opposition leader had insulted the people of Telangana with his reluctance to attend the assembly.

Other Congress leaders also questioned how KCR planned to attend the party’s Nalgonda public meeting on Tuesday but stay away from the assembly.
