KCR predicts new national party to face BJP

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao hints at the formation of a new national party as an alternative to the Bharatiya Janata Party at the national level.

Speaking to media persons at the Telangana Bhavan, KCR said at present, there was a political vacuum in the country and there was a need to fill it up.

“There is a strong need to fill up this vacuum and bring about a change in the national politics. That is why I am contemplating entering the national politics. I strongly feel a new national party would emerge as an alternative to the BJP by 2024,” he said.

It is not exactly known whether KCR himself is contemplating launching a new national party or whether he is predicting existing parties like Aam Admi Party and Trinamul Congress emerging as national alternatives to the BJP.

“The people of the country are totally disgusted with the BJP. If there is an alternative, they would vote for it. There is a need to drive the BJP away from the national politics, if the nation has to progress on all fronts,” he said.

KCR also found fault with the BJP for trying to play politics over the film “Kashmir Files,” by dividing the people on the communal lines.

“The film was only to divert the people’s attention from crucial issues. The BJP-ruled states have given tax exemption to this film only to cash in on Hindu sentments,” he said.

He said the Central government should do something for Kashmiri pundits, instead of mere sweet talk.

“What the country needs now is not Kashmir Files. It needs to talk about the GDP files, agriculture files, tribal files, economic files, farmers’ files and development files,” he said.
