Kavitha Forces KCR to Step Out of Farmhouse?

Kavitha Forces KCR to Step Out of Farmhouse?

The launch of a new regional party — Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS) — by Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha appears to have prompted her father and BRS president KCR to step out of his stay at the Erravelli farmhouse.

Kavitha strategically launched her party on April 25, just two days before the BRS completed 25 years on April 27, seemingly aiming to make a political statement.

According to sources, there was initially no plan for KCR to attend the BRS foundation day event at the party headquarters. In the morning, it was BRS working president KTR who unfurled the party flag at Telangana Bhavan.

However, by the afternoon, KCR decided to come to Hyderabad and address party leaders, reportedly to contain internal discontent following Kavitha’s move and to prevent leaders from drifting toward her new party.

During his address, KCR announced plans to revamp and revitalise the BRS. He delivered a firm message to party leaders and cadre, emphasising discipline, loyalty, and grassroots performance as non-negotiable pillars for the party’s future.

Within party circles, his strong tone is being seen as an effort to consolidate leadership and reassert control at a time when some leaders are reportedly exploring alternative platforms.

Party sources said Kavitha’s decision to launch TRS has pushed KCR to tighten organisational discipline and send a clear message of unity within the BRS.

KCR made it clear that deviation from the party line would not be tolerated. In a strong warning, he stated that even sitting MLAs could be denied tickets in upcoming elections if they fail to adhere to party discipline or act against the interests of grassroots workers.

He also cautioned leaders against relying on “social media theatrics,” stressing that political relevance depends on ground-level performance, not digital visibility.

In a pointed remark aimed at those considering alternative options, KCR warned against “dual loyalties,” stating that any ambiguity in commitment would not be accepted.

Setting the tone for the party’s future course, he reiterated that candidature would be based on discipline, loyalty, and measurable performance rather than incumbency.

Political observers believe this renewed assertiveness reflects KCR’s attempt to strengthen the party structure as Telangana’s political landscape continues to evolve.
