Divorced IITian Wants 'Virgin Bride' - Netizens React

A viral post has triggered a massive online debate after a 37-year-old divorced IIT graduate reportedly laid down strict conditions for his future bride.

According to matchmaker Oendrila Kapoor, the man — a director at a top company — insisted on marrying a woman under 30, from the Brahmin community, with “no past,” meaning no relationships and virginity.

His demands quickly raised eyebrows.

When questioned, the man justified his criteria by citing vague “research” claiming women with past relationships are more likely to be unfaithful. But when asked if the same logic applied to him as a divorcee, he reportedly dismissed it, saying, “That’s not a fair comparison… because I’m a man.”

The response sparked outrage, with many calling it blatant double standards.

Kapoor also pointed out the impracticality of his expectations, noting that women from conservative backgrounds may not accept a 37-year-old divorcee. However, the man claimed he was already receiving such proposals online but wanted additional verification.

Unimpressed, Kapoor refused to take him on as a client, calling out his mindset as “orthodox and patriarchal.”

The post quickly went viral, with social media users slamming the man’s expectations as unrealistic and sexist. Many questioned his “audacity,” while others remarked that such attitudes may explain his failed marriage.

A few voices defended his right to personal preferences, but the larger sentiment remained critical.

The episode has once again highlighted the clash between traditional expectations and evolving relationship norms, with many calling for fairness and accountability on both sides.
