KCR comes to defence of Rahul Gandhi, attacks Modi

Bharat Rashtra Samithi President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao strongly condemned the disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from his parliamentary membership on Friday.

Describing it as a "black day in the history of Indian democracy," KCR said in a statement that Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from Parliament was the height of Narendra Modi's arrogance and dictatorship.

"It is highly reprehensible that the Modi government is not only abusing Constitutional institutions but also using the highest democratic platform, the Parliament, for its nefarious activities," he said.

Stating that this is an adverse time for democracy and Constitutional values, the BRS President said that Modi's regime has overshadowed the emergency.

"The harassment of opposition leaders has become routine. Modi, on his own, is collapsing by disqualifying opposition leaders to protect criminals and cheaters," he said.

He said that this is not the time for conflicts among political parties, but all democrats should openly condemn the misdeeds of the BJP government to safeguard democracy and Constitutional values in the country.

"We must resist the BJP's evil policies," he said.
