Kavitha slams KCR for distancing seniors

Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha on Tuesday found fault with her father and Bharat Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao for distancing senior leaders like Tummala Nageshwar Rao, which led to the party’s defeat in the last assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters in Khammam, Kavitha launched a sharp attack on the BRS leadership, alleging that she was expelled from the party as part of a “planned conspiracy” executed by certain leaders who wanted her and her family pushed out of the organisation.

Kavitha asserted that she has no immediate plans to float a new political party, contrary to ongoing speculation. She clarified that she was formally suspended from the BRS and no longer shares any association with the party.

“Some people orchestrated a conspiracy and distanced me and my family from the BRS. I have not made even a small mistake in my political life,” she said.

Pointing to the treatment of senior leader Tummala Nageswara Rao, Kavitha said the BRS’ decision to sideline him in Khammam significantly contributed to its defeat.

“Letting go of a strong leader like Tummala was a mistake — a 100% blunder. After his exit, the party’s prospects completely collapsed,” she remarked.

She criticised both the ruling party and the BRS for failing to fulfil their democratic responsibilities.

She added that her team intends to play a responsible Opposition role in the future.

Kavitha also claimed she was denied opportunities even when she was part of the BRS.

“I didn’t get a chance anywhere. I couldn’t even manage a teacher’s transfer. Jagruthi workers were treated unfairly and not given recognition,” she said.

Tracing Khammam’s political evolution, Kavitha said the district has historically played a central role in the Telangana movement.

She credited former chief ministers Jalagam Vengal Rao and subsequently Tummala Nageswara Rao for driving development in the region.

She acknowledged the ongoing efforts of Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, but insisted that Khammam still has not seen full-fledged development, particularly pointing to the pending Sitarama irrigation project, which she demanded must be completed immediately.
