Bharat Rashtra Samithi led by former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken a firm stand not to vote for either INDIA bloc candidate B Sudarshan Reddy or NDA candidate C P Radhakrishnan in the Vice-Presidential election, polling for which is being held on Tuesday.
This was officially announced by KTR at a press conference on Monday. He declared that the BRS doesn’t belong to any bloc but only to the people of Telangana.
In the process, he forgot that Sudarshan Reddy doesn’t belong to any political party and is an out and out pro-Telangana person.
Interestingly, KCR’s daughter and Telangana Jagruthi founder Kalvakuntla Kavitha differed with his father’s decision on the Vice-Presidential elections.
She told reporters on Tuesday that she strongly wished that Justice Sudarshan Reddy, a son of Telangana, should win the upcoming Vice-Presidential election.
She said Sudarshan Reddy would bring dignity to the Vice-President’s post and highlighted his strong commitment to the Constitution.
Kavitha added that Telangana Jagruthi would continue its efforts for a socially just Telangana, working with a higher purpose and ensuring justice to all sections of society.
She also stressed that they would proceed politically after taking everyone’s views into consideration.
She said they would move forward inspired by KCR’s spirit of struggle, which likened the fight for Telangana to even embracing hardships like a silkworm hugging its cocoon.
“Our movement will include everyone — from Left to Right,” she said, adding that if KCR had come back to power for a third term, he would have worked for a socially inclusive Telangana.
