With Toxic officially moving out of the June race and getting postponed indefinitely, the prime summer release date of June 4 has suddenly opened up.
Wasting no time, Bollywood stepped in to capitalize on the opportunity, with Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai starring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur locking that weekend. However, the absence of a Telugu biggie on this date has raised eyebrows.
Currently, the focus is on Peddi, starring Ram Charan, and Lenin.
Instead of clashing during the crowded June 25–26 weekend, industry watchers feel one of these films should consider advancing to June 4 to take advantage of the summer holiday season.
Nagarjuna Akkineni recently confirmed that his son’s Lenin will release on June 26 without any change. If that holds, the onus shifts to Peddi to make a strategic move and grab the earlier date.
However, sources suggest that Peddi may not be ready in time. While the item song shoot has been wrapped up, significant post-production work remains, including background score and final editing.
Completing all of this within a month would require an intense, round-the-clock effort from the team.
Fans and trade analysts believe that avoiding a box office clash later in June would be a smarter move. Whether Peddi can accelerate its schedule and capitalize on the vacant June 4 slot remains to be seen.
