Jagan calls on KCR: Any political significance?

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday met Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former chief minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao at the latter’s residence in Nandi Nagar in Hyderabad.

Jagan, along with his party colleagues including Rajampet MP P Mithun Reddy, Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and MLC Talasila Raghuram and others, flew down in a special flight from Tadepalli to Hyderabad.

They were received by BRS leaders Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, Mahamood Ali, Joginapally Santosh Kumar, P Kaushik Reddy, A Jeevan Reddy and Ch Lingaiah at the Begumpet airport.

Jagan came down to Hyderabad exclusively to call on KCR, who suffered hip fracture on December and underwent hip replacement surgery the same night. He has been recuperating at his Nandinagar residence, where doctors said he needed rest for at least six to eight weeks.

In fact, Jagan was supposed to call on KCR in Yashoda Hospitals, within days of the surgery, but somehow, he could not do it for reasons known to him. Now, after almost a month, he found some time to come to Hyderabad only for meeting KCR.

This led to the talk that Jagan has come to Hyderabad with a purpose. Apart from making a courtesy call to enquire about KCR’s health, the YSRC chief also has discussed the reasons for the BRS defeat in the Telangana lessons, so that he could tackle a similar anti-incumbency, if any, in Andhra Pradesh.

Apparently, Jagan sought the advice of KCR in avoiding the mistakes the BRS had committed in Telangana, so that YSRC can come back to power in Andhra, braving the tough contest from the Telugu Desam Party-Jana Sena combine.

The Andhra chief minister also had a brief discussion with KCR’s son and BRS working president K T Rama Rao on the prevailing political situation in Telangana and the strategies to be adopted in Andhra.
