Harish to become in-charge of Eatala constituency?

Telangana finance minister T Harish Rao, nephew of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is likely to be made in-charge of the party in Huzurabad assembly constituency to neutralize his good old friend and MLA Eatala Rajender.

This was indirectly hinted by none other than Rajender himself. “It has come to my knowledge that my friend and my former colleague in the state cabinet is going to be appointed as the TRS in-charge of Huzurabad. He is welcome to come to my constituency,” Rajender said.

The sacked health minister, who did not name Harish Rao, said let the minister, who is known for securing victory for the TRS wherever he was appointed, could come to Huzurabad as well.

“Nobody can underestimate the people of Huzurabad. They have been with me for the last 20 years. I ensured that they had voted for the TRS in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, though the people in other assembly segments voted for the BJP,” Rajender said.

Known for his soft nature and extensive networking abilities, Harish Rao enjoys the record of securing victory for the TRS wherever he was given the responsibility.

However, he ended up on a losing side only in the by-elections to Dubbak assembly seat in December last.

But the TRS leadership has not lost the confidence in Harish Rao, because of his wide connections with the people.

“He is a trouble shooter for the party and he never went back on the responsibility given to him. He will put his heart and soul to see that the TRS emerges victorious,” a TRS leader said.

However, Rajender being his close friend all these days, it remains to be seen whether Harish Rao would accept the responsibility and even if he takes it up, whether he would succeed in his efforts.

“If the TRS loses in Huzurabad in the by-elections, the party leadership might not trust Harish Rao again. So, it is a tricky situation for him,” the leader added.
