Buzz: Another Rift Rocks Revanth Cabinet

Internal wrangling within the Telangana Congress continues to go unabated in every district of the state with the party leaders dividing into groups and indulging in internal fights.

In Warangal, there has been a growing confrontation between endowments minister Konda Surekha family and local MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy over gaining control over the party in the district.

Now, there is a fresh confrontation between Konda Surekha and her cabinet colleague Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.

On Saturday, Surekha lodged a formal complaint against Ponguleti accusing him of interfering in Endowments Department affairs and manipulating a Rs 71-crore tender process.

Sources confirmed that Surekha met chief minister A Revanth Reddy and later sent a detailed letter to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, alleging that Ponguleti overstepped his jurisdiction as Medaram Jatara in-charge minister to influence departmental contracts.

Surekha, who holds the endowments portfolio, expressed displeasure that tenders were finalized without her knowledge, calling it an “unwarranted intrusion.”

She reportedly plans to visit Delhi to apprise the Congress high command directly of the issue.

The controversy comes just weeks after a previous dispute between ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Lakshman Kumar was defused through party intervention.

Sources say the latest episode once again exposes the lack of coordination within Revanth Reddy’s cabinet.

While Ponguleti’s camp insists he acted within his official role as district in-charge minister, Surekha’s supporters allege she has been sidelined despite her seniority.

The issue has now escalated to the national leadership, which may soon step in to contain the damage.
