YS Sharmila's image is in doldrums for the kind of approach she took in shaping up her political career.
She began her journey by establishing YSRTP in Telangana and initially gained some recognition through padyatra and public meetings. However, she failed to consistently maintain her presence, eventually getting fatigued and abandoning her mission due to unfulfilled expectations.
During this process, in one of the public meetings she mocked Chiranjeevi for merging his party into Congress, suggesting that Pawan Kalyan might follow suit with Jana Sena. Ironically, she is now in the process of merging YSRTP into Congress.
Another noteworthy point is the insult she faced from the Congress High Command for not being invited to the swearing-in ceremony of Revanth Reddy. Despite having the recently established relations with the Congress High Command, she did not receive an invitation, and yet she is proceeding with the merger of her party into Congress, aiming to lead the party in Andhra Pradesh. This speaks about her nature of getting succumbed to the situation.
One must question how she intends to campaign in Andhra Pradesh after previously presenting herself as the daughter-in-law of Telangana during her campaign in the state. Now, will she claim to be the daughter of Andhra Pradesh while representing Congress in Andhra Pradesh?
It is worth noting that ABN Radhakrishna was known for causing trouble to YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the past. Despite this history, Sharmila is divulging every secret of her internal family relations with her brother and others to him. Such actions raise concerns about how she expects to command respect from the voters with a seemingly weak mindset and apparent lack of values.
It is evident that YS Sharmila differs from her brother, who was known for his ability to fight like a one-man army without succumbing to pressures, greed, and fear.
YS Sharmila is in the trap of TDP media, Congress, and every opponent of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She seems unaware that she is being used as a scapegoat but nothing else. Unfortunately, in the end, she gains no benefit from engaging in these activities including the loyalty of voters.
Recently, she claimed that the Congress gained power in Telangana solely because of her influence. She asserted that since YSRTP did not participate in the 2023 Telangana Assembly Election, the anti-KCR votes were not divided between Congress and YSRTP, resulting in Congress coming to power.
She also continued to state that as a gesture of gratitude for not contesting in the election, the Congress High Command is welcoming her, leading to the decision to merge her party with Congress.
Observing all these statements and actions, she appears to be resembling a political entertainer, following in the footsteps of figures like Pawan Kalyan and KA Paul. Quite unfortunate!
