Opinion: RRR Is A Children's Film

RRR seems to be made only for children and childish audiences. The kids who love to watch circus feats and the superhero stunts enjoy this very well as they hardly look into the story, the drama and the flaws running behind.

It was a visual treat and adrenaline boosting to see Ram charan killing 100 soldiers in 'Magadheera'. But after these many years, Rajamouli might have decided to give him a promotion by increasing the number.

I felt so watching him fighting with lakhs of agitators single handedly in his introduction scene.

Well, the agitators are Indian freedom fighters. The hero of our film Ram Charan batters them blue and black. How can the sane Indian audiences connect to his heroism there?

But yes, children and childlike audiences don't know who the freedom fighters are. They understand that what the hero is doing is right and enjoy a jump in adrenaline.

Similarly, the kids enjoy NTR carrying crippled Ram Charan on his shoulders and doing circus feats in the jail break scene. They don't even think that normal human beings never jump against the laws of gravity in their fights.

In the first place, the childish audience don't know who Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komarum Bheem are.

When Rajamouli declared that "all the characters are fictional and any resemblance to the living or dead is mere coincidence", why should they have taken those names and promoted this as a patriotic film? This may result in distortion of history and the future generations may assume whatever is shown in the film excluding graphics is history.

Coming back, a scene enjoyed by kids in the theatre is the English language track between NTR- Jenny. Well, that was liked by the audiences of all ages unanimously.

The bridge collapse scene in the beginning is another mega circus feat enjoyed by the kids. Adults don't understand the purpose of the flag in that scene. But it's like Superman and Spiderman saving a kid from drowning again against the laws of Physics.

Children may argue with their teachers that the Laws of Physics they are taught are wrong, showing RRR as evidence. Such will be the impact of this film on kids.

It is worth mentioning that the child artiste who acted as Malli surely deserves the best child actress award. Her expressions and performance are so captivating and natural.

Rajamouli might have pitched and promoted RRR as a Children's film. That way, he might have avoided some negative reviews as well. Some audience would have watched from a children's perspective and appreciated Rajamouli for under-thinking to meet the standards of a kid's brain.

On the other hand, the collections also would have been better than the present, as adults automatically come to theaters to show the film to their kids.

Well, sometimes it happens. Master craftsman wished to make a patriotic film but it ended up as the most expensive children's film ever made in India.
