The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project has moved forward with bids submitted for its key signalling and telecommunication contract, Package S-1.
Two joint ventures — Alstom Transport – Larsen & Toubro and DRA Infracon – Siemens — have entered the race for this contract, floated by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) in January 2025.
This package includes the design, supply, installation, testing, and maintenance of the signalling, telecommunication, and operation control systems for the bullet train line.
The project is to be completed within a 7-year period (2,555 days), with the aim of ensuring high-efficiency control systems for India's first bullet train corridor.
Currently, the technical evaluation of bids is underway. Only after successful qualification will the financial bids be opened to determine the lowest bidder and final contractor.
This marks a significant milestone in the project's execution timeline.
