YSRCP gets top lawyer for Kommineni, not for Krishnamraju

YSRCP gets top lawyer for Kommineni, not for Krishnamraju

Senior journalist and Sakshi TV anchor Kommineni Srinivasa Rao succeeded in securing bail from the Supreme Court in the controversial Amaravati debate case, thanks to the strong legal assistance provided by the YSR Congress Party, led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

According to sources, following Jagan's instructions, the YSRCP legal cell went out of its way to arrange top legal counsel for Kommineni at a significant cost.

Senior Supreme Court advocate Siddharth Dave, who charges several lakhs of rupees per hearing, was engaged to argue Kommineni’s case.

Although the Supreme Court granted bail to Kommineni on Friday, procedural delays have postponed his release.

He remains in Guntur jail, with his lawyers explaining that consecutive holidays have disrupted the process, and his release may not happen before Monday.

However, controversial journalist and self-proclaimed political analyst V V R Krishnamraju, who made derogatory comments against Amaravati women — describing the capital as a “capital of sex workers” during the debate hosted by Kommineni on Sakshi TV — has not received any relief.

The YSRCP, choosing to distance itself from Krishnamraju’s remarks, has not extended any legal support to him for obvious reasons.

Offering such assistance could create the impression that the party endorsed his comments or that he made them at the behest of the YSRCP.

Sources say Krishnamraju has engaged his own legal counsel to handle his case.

“However, there is speculation that YSRCP leaders might be secretly funding his legal expenses, though no evidence has surfaced to confirm this,” the sources added.
