Yet another TDP MLA facing resistance in public!

Yet another TDP MLA facing resistance in public!

Notwithstanding the claims of Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu that he is providing a clean and efficient administration; there have been a lot of complaints against his own party MLAs at the ground-level.

Naidu himself has been pointing out to the complaints against his own party MLAs at the cabinet and party meetings.

Some of them were called to the party office and given a dressing down, but there seems to be no change in their attitude.

In a latest controversy that erupted in Anantapur, an audio clip recording has been in circulation on social media, allegedly featuring Anantapur Urban MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad abusing a shop owner over a property dispute.

The incident involves an optical shop run by Sharif and Sumaya in Sai Nagar, Anantapur. The couple had purchased the shop in 2024 and mortgaged it to a bank. However, a dispute arose after others allegedly executed double registrations on the same property.

When the couple approached authorities, they alleged in media statements that the MLA’s brother-in-law Ashok’s name was being cited as influencing officials.

Following these comments, the MLA allegedly called Sharif and used highly abusive language. The audio of the conversation has since gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage.

The Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a protest in Anantapur, marching from the Ambedkar statue to the Superintendent of Police’s office.

CPI leaders demanded a thorough investigation into the MLA’s alleged illegal activities and intimidation tactics.

CPI city secretary Sriramulu alleged that despite lacking strong public recognition, the MLA was elected due to voters’ faith in the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu, but had since resorted to mafia-style functioning with the help of his associates.

He accused the MLA and his followers of land grabbing, threats, and even encroaching on properties belonging to women leaders of the same party.

A formal complaint was submitted to SP Jagadeesh, and CPI leaders warned of intensified agitation if action is not taken.
