Worst Days Ahead For New Andhra Pradesh

With Telangana announcement getting confirmed, the new Andhra Pradesh has been isolated in one sense.

However, many are thinking the capital for new AP will develop by itself in the ten years after Hyderabad is taken by Telangana. But that is far from the truth. There are some realistic challenges waiting ahead.

The experts say worst days are ahead for new Andhra Pradesh. For starters, water resources are a major challenge.

The two major rivers Krishna and Godavari have to come from Telangana. If they construct dams then Seemandhra will be dried out so it is not sure how the water sharing will take place.

The other challenge is infrastructure, the kind of development and setup that is in GHMC if it has to come to Seemandhra it will take at least two to three decades ie a minimum of five to six general elections. And the development activity has to be constant.

Where is the fund for all that? Who will give? Hyderabad is getting revenue from twenty plus districts but how about the new capital? Even setting up a new international airport will be a teething issue for new Andhra Pradesh. Sad but true!
