Will Morusupalli Sharmila Do This Mistake?

Will Morusupalli Sharmila Do This Mistake?

Morusupalli Sharmila, the sister of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has officially joined the Congress party and is now poised to lead the Andhra Pradesh Congress in the current situation.

However, it is certain to say that the main political contest is between the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the TDP+Janasena alliance, with other parties, including the BJP and Congress, being completely inconsequential.

The ultimate winner is likely to be one of the two major parties, with minimal chance for a third-party victory.

If Sharmila decides to contest from the Congress, she may anticipate splitting the Christian votes of the YSRCP. However, the critical question is, who would vote for her?

The majority of voters are likely to support a candidate only if there is a genuine potential or chance to become the Chief Minister. In the absence of such prospects, her chances of success are zero, and she may be branded as unsuccessful once the election is over.

She may face criticism similar to the way Pawan Kalyan has been criticized following the 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections, where Jana Sena performed poorly.

In this scenario, if she refrains from contesting in the elections this time, her situation may be somewhat better.

Regardless of whether TDP+Janasena or YSRCP emerges as the winner, she could position herself to compete for the second position in the next elections in 2029.

It is important to note that neither of the two major parties, YSRCP or TDP, is likely to spare her once they secure victory.

The key lies in whether she will use this basic common sense and make a mindful decision.
