Will KCR accept Gov invite for Ugadi festivities?

Will KCR accept Gov invite for Ugadi festivities?

For the last few months, a cold war of sorts has been brewing between Telangana Rashtra Samithi government led by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.

Ever since Tamilisai rejected the nomination of Padi Kaushik Reddy as MLC under the Governor’s quota, the chief minister has been angry with her and has been staying away from Raj Bhavan.

Apart from doing away with the customary Governor’s address before the commencement of the budget session of the state assembly, the KCR government has not been extending any protocol to Tamilisai at any meeting.

The TRS leaders including MLAs and ministers and even officials have been boycotting the Governor wherever she went – whether it was Medaram jatara, or Nallamala visit to Chenchu habitations or the National Cultural Festival at Warangal a couple of days ago.

She was not even invited to the inauguration of the Yadadri Narasimha Swamy temple, though she is the first citizen of the state. It was only a KCR show.

Yet, Tamilisai has been maintaining restraint. In a bid to prove that she doesn’t have any ego issues or any differences with KCR, she has invited him for the pre-Ugadi festival celebrations to Raj Bhavan on Friday evening.

She also sent invitations to all the cabinet colleagues of KCR, besides representatives of other political parties and even higher officials. If KCR doesn’t attend the celebrations, it would clearly expose the fact that he has serious differences with Tamilsai.

If he attends the celebrations, it shows KCR is willing for a compromise with the Governor and end his confrontationist attitude towards the institution.

Let us what will happen.
